Today is 12th March, 09 and here’s what happened today in tech…
1 – On March, 12th, 1755: The first steam engine in America installed, to pump water from a mine.
2 – Japanese Physicist, Leona Esaki also known as Leo Esaki was born on 12 March, 1925. He has shared the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1973 with Ivar Giaever and Brian David Josephson for his discovery of the phenomenon of electron tunneling.
3 – On 12th of March 2007: The blueprint for the Chinese space program is released. It consists of the information of the first Chinese-built astronomy satellite, a joint unmanned mission to Mars with Russia, and other extensive international cooperation.
4 – Today in 2008: The total amount of digital information is estimated at 281 exabytes in 2007, exceeding available data storage for the first time.
