1 - On 13th, March, 1781: Sir William Herschel discovers Uranus.
2 - This day in 1930: Pluto was discovered and this news was telegraphed to the Harvard College observatory.
3 – American software engineer Dave Cutler, was born today in 1942. He is the designer and developer of several operating systems including the RSX-11M, VMS and VAXELN systems of Digital Equipment Corporation and Windows NT of Microsoft. He is also the leading developer of a cloud-based operating system project, Windows Azure.
4 – Today in 1970; Digital Equipment Corp introduces PDP-11 minicomputer.
5 – Microsoft has its initial public offering on 13th, March, 1986.
6 – On 13th, March, 2006: Google unveils the web site mars.google.com, which presents a zoomable map of the planet Mars using data provided by researchers at Arizona State University.
