1 – On 16th, march, 1926: Robert Goddard launches the first liquid-fueled rocket, at Auburn, Massachusetts.
2 – Today in 1942 – The first V-2 rocket test launch. It explodes at liftoff.
3 – The Ford Motor Company produces its 50 millionth automobile on 16th, March, 1958; the Thunderbird (T-Bird), averaging almost a million cars a year since the company’s founding.
4 – Today in 1968 – General Motors produces its 100 millionth automobile, the Oldsmobile Toronado.
5 – This day in 2005; In Japan, Hitachi unveils two examples of its wheeled robot Emiew.
