Today is 11th April, 09 and here’s what happened today in tech…
1 - 1900 U.S. Navy’s 1st submarine made its debut.
2 – 1960 1st weather satellite, called Tiros1 was launched.
3 – 1963 U.S. performed nuclear test at Nevada Test Site.
4 – 1970 Apollo 13 launched to Moon; unable to land returns in 6 days. Apollo 13 was intended to be the third manned lunar-landing mission, part of Project Apollo under NASA in the United States, that would look more closely into the surface of the moon.
5 – 1972 U.S.S.R. performs underground nuclear test.
6 – 1984 Challenger astronauts complete 1st in space satellite repair.
7 – 1984 Soyuz T-11 returns to Earth. Soyuz T-11 was the 6th expedition to Salyut 7, and carried the first Indian cosmonaut to the Salyut 7 station.
