Today is 02nd May, 09 and here’s what happened today in tech…
1 – 1529: death of Leonardo da vinci.He was a significant mathematician, engineer and inventor amongst other things. It was him who back in the 15th century conceptualized the Helicopter; it took the rest of our species some 500 odd years to follow through with his plans.
2 – 1919 the 1st US air passenger service was started
3 – 1952, the world’s first ever jet engine based airliner the De Havilland Comet 1 made its maiden flight from London to Johannesburg.
4 – 1962 the United States of America, tested its atmospheric nuclear weaponry at Christmas Island.
5 – 2000 He announced that accurate GPS access would no longer be limited to the United States military in 2000.
