Five illegal gateway exchanges busted: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), in collaboration with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials, has busted five illegal international gateway exchanges in residential areas of Islamabad and Karachi in last few weeks. This initiative is a part of the pursuance of its efforts against illegal telecom traffic. PTA detected illegal set-ups through the Technical Facility installed to monitor the illegal business of telecom throughout the country.
HP and Alcatel-Lucent to Form Global Alliance: HP and Alcatel-Lucent has announced that they have signed a relationship agreement establishing both parties’ intent to form a 10-year global alliance to help customers leverage the convergence of telecommunication and IT. Once the definitive agreement has been executed, the companies will jointly market solutions and capabilities that enable end-to-end transformation for service providers and enterprises.
HP and Alcatel-Lucent also plan to create a joint go-to-market initiative to provide communications solutions to mid- and large-size enterprises and public sector organizations.
