Watch the review and comment on all the aspects of the phone you think people need to know about. And if the Commentor is in Karachi, then we invite you into the WebStudio to host your OWN review of the N63 you just won, so come prepared!!

Remember, we are looking for the commentor’s ability to communicate details about the N97 or something you like or dislike about it in an original and innovative way. We are not taking your English writing skills into consideration. As long as you have a good idea and an angle that someone else has missed, write it out! Please note that you are eligible to win the phone, if you live in Pakistan. Anyone outside of Pakistan is welcome to participate in the “competition” and CIO Pakistan will run a small interview with any strong contenders who reside outside of Pakistan.

  1. Imran Hussain Says:

Yay! First commentor! I WAS oooohing and aaaahing through out the review as said :P

I don’t think the review was foolish at all.
I think the N97 is awesome. I would have loved to see video playback on the phone as well. The QWERTY keyboard looks nice, but I wonder if there’s an on screen keyboard in it as well. Des it have cool games too?

    The good:
Awesome camera. Great pictures and videos.
One touch access to social networks, contacts etc. I’m sure someone will come up with a Twitter widget too, if not there already. Sleek design. Homescreen layout really nice and productive.

    The bad:
Its ridiculously high price and lack of multi touch and capacitive screen. The options menus aren’t really user friendly. I wish they’d fix that soon!
At 65k, a person would rather get an iPhone.
Also, it’s not the iPhone killer it was hyped up to be.
    And eww smudgy screen!

Since, the first comment is mine, let me also explain 10 reasons why I should be chosen as the winner.

    1. Again, the first comment was mine
    2. I saw the whole episode, not just commented on it :P
    3. If I win I’ll let you use the N63 :P
    4. I’ll review it rather easily and not be camera shy like Haris. :P
    5. Coz my current cell phone is old and stop working sometimes.
    6. Coz ithinkdifferent
    7. Because you already know who I am, although I’ll still prove my identity if needed :P
    8. Because I’m unable to Tweet and TwitPic obsessively at the moment due to my current cell phone.
    9. Coz I’m a GEEK with out a super geeky QWERTY keyboard cell phone! :(
    10. I promise not tweet obsessively about the cell phone if I win. Well.. not really :P

    P.S.
    11. Coz RG you rock!! you are the best! :P

  2. Host Says:

Welcome to the land of fools…nice one one Imran… Barring your obvious sucking up to Ms. Garib and your rather troubling obsession with Tweeting, I think your review so far is “worthy” but then we have nothing to compare with!! (as yet!)

  3. rabia garib Says:

@Imran Hmmmm… Mogambo Khush Howaa! And though I had no reason to say that line except I had no other way of highlighting just how far ‘bootpolish’ behavior will get you!!! I admit that I DO like your reasons but don’t like the fact that you thought the screen was smudgy (even if it was!!) Host (otherwise referred to as ’she-who-must-not-be-named’) seems to have done well to get on my good side too!

@Host I am in complete alignment of your agreeable thoughts…. so far. Are you jealous of the fact that this young laddy knows not just my name but also the initials of my name?! Should he win, we must also present him with a cap to cover his head!!

  4. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

iPhone: Muhahaa!!!! So You are the N97. Hey! forget that you can kill me! :D

N97: Behave yourself! I’ll kill you! I have a lot more features than you! I’ll eat up all the iPhone market share!

iPhone: No! You can never do that! The biggest negative point you have, is that you are not Apple! Apple is born to win!

N97: But I am Nokia, with largest cellphone market share! huh! I’ve got a 5mp camera and you just have 3mp!

iPhone: *Feels Shy* *Where to hide* oh! camera is not everything! Com’on! don’t speak like kids, lets talk about some higher level features! I am a multitouch, you are not!

    N97: *Hides behind his chair*

iPhone: hahahah!! ok ok Com’on! get out of there, lets talk about something else!

N97: *Comes out* hey! you don’t even have a replaceable battery!

iPhone: You are too thick and heavy for a pocket.

N97: I am available in any country, any network! I am for everybody! You are not!

iPhone: *Hides his face with his hands*

    N97: I kill you! I kill you! :D

    iPhone: Behave yourself!

N97: I am too social! Email, facebook and other social networks, just a tap away! And the pictures can directly be uploaded to Ovi!

iPhone: there are apps available for all these! I can also do that!

N97: huh! you cost for those apps, I don’t!

    iPhone: :’(

N97: I have home screen widgets. Users can have a quick view of everything they like! They can even download more widgets from Ovi. Instead, you require to open apps for everything. I support a lot of video formats too!

    iPhone: *Starts weeping*

N97: I have a physical QWERTY keyboard too!

iPhone: *says while weeping* but you don’t have an on-screen keyboard and you are too costly!

N97: LOL! :D Every good thing costs more! You are cheaper than me, it means you are not too good!

    iPhone: Now shut your mouth!

    N97: hehehe!! :D

iPhone gets angry and slaps on N97’s face, they start fighting….. dush.. dah.. dhyb… kkkkrrrr… chrakh…. tha…. doz…doz doz doz… dishkooo dishkooo!!

Suddenly a Big guy enters the room and roars “Stop Fighting!!!” but they don’t even listen to him! then he shouts “Can anybody help me stop them?”

    Awais: Who are you?

    Big Guy: I am “Nokia”

    Awais: I can stop them

Nokia: If you do that, I’ll give you an E63 as a reward!

Awais suddenly jumps off his seat and says something to N97 and iPhone in their ears and they give up fighting.

Nokia: Thumbs up Awais! Here you go with E63.

Awais grasps his E63 and starts to dance with joy!

Nokia: What did you say to both of them BTW?

Awais: I said “Rabia Garib and Host are geat” :D

*Awais is still dancing with joy*

Suddenly he hears a voice “Wake up Awais, Its 12 noon” :( :’(

  5. Aly B Says:

LOL! Awais that was hilarious. :)

I didn’t watch the video nor do I hv any clue what E63 or N97 is. Nor do I hv money to buy a new phone or I would’ve bought a Javelin or Bold already. :)

  6. Muneeb Iqbal Says:

lol… Thumbs up Awais awesome script writing by you. By the way I didn’t knew after ur this much crazy love for Apple u needed Some thing from Nokia :) though great kind of comparison by you and Imran and it seems u guyz covered almost every thing… but one thin Awais did’nt said here but some where else was.. that the negative point of Nokia is that they are missing with one or two feature every time.. and then they launch a new cell phone with new feature and all Nokia users get crazy abt the new one :)

I also read some where it have standard LCD instead of AMOLED.. I don’t think other then Samsung any one using Amoled one’s .. like Samsung Omnia II is e.g. of Amoled display..

    http://gizmodo.com/5291053/samsung-omnia-ii-has-biggest-ever-phone-amoled-display-coming-to-verizon

I checked the comparison b/w Omnia i8910 and n97.. and I think.. will like to buy omnia more then N97

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSTYXOpSDLA

    Price is approximately same..

Some thing which Omnia doesn’t have and N97 does is push to talk … Push Email is by default in n97 but can be installed any where.. like in any Symbian…

That’s it.. just wanted to comment here.. and I guess that covers every thing.. .. I think over all N97 is good can be added to the list of wish list but Omnia is some thing for which person would love to liquidate investment and get hands on.. .. just ma idea..

    Regards,

    Muneeb

  7. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

Oh! One thing! Big mistake in the above post!!

“…….COULD be shortlisted to win a Nokia N63!! And if the Commentor is in Karachi, then we invite you into the WebStudio to host your OWN review of the N63 you just won, so come prepared!!….”

RG! you are giving “E63″ not the “N63″, so plz correct the error!

Now I am the most creative! I sorted out the big error, like.no.other :D

  8. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

oh! Com’on host! Here’s how to review a cellphone!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrHoZheC8sU&feature=player_embedded

    :D

  9. rabia garib Says:

@Awais – just for that wisecrack, you are out of the race.. MUUUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  10. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

@RG Now you are no more great! :D

  11. Syed Talha Izhar Says:

Seems like a nice phone. But N97 is not purely the N series Nokia has been producing. Its more of a hybrid having a feel of E series, communicator series and the flavor of season “Touch”.

I wouldn’t go into the details of good and bad or compare it with iPhone but I would take a look at some of the features, someone like me, who likes to be on social networks all the time, would benefit from. The touch response that the phone generates is a big NO NO for me as it will only consume battery and hence reducing the talk time. I like the concept of having the communicator-like-QWERTY for people who need ease in typing. What actually attracted me is the ease with which I can use twitter and facebook which currently I can’t as the browser doesn’t support ajax maybe my new E63 could help me do just that ;)

Overall nice features but wrong time to launch it with this price because most of dudes like me aren’t at a liberty to buy this attractive phone currently.
Nokia’s previous N series were launched with a heavy price tag but in a month the prices came down, so I would suggest to wait for a month or so before buying this piece.

  12. Teeth Maestro Says:

    ^Rabia Garib^

  13. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

  14. Haris Says:

    Rabia Garib, YOU’RE THE BESSHHHT!!!

*hopes I win the Nokia E63*

  15. Muhammad Aamir Says:

my comment: im not greedy, don’t need ur fone, lolzzz

  16. Muneeb Iqbal Says:

fyi, I forgot to mention it’s recession time… avoid buying expensive phone and INVEST in Gold :) for now…

beside Nokia’s first version is always dramatic and need for improvement is always there.. till the second one launches.. this happened with e71

    Muneeb

  17. Farhan Janjua Says:

Ooooohhh!! so trying some luck for the contest :P

umm… I’ll be a bit creative, I can’t give a better review then the host did, until I get my hands on to this phone :P , give it to me and I’ll review it for you :D

    Comprehensive enough ? :P

  18. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

@Guppu ROFL!! This is the most creative review so far! =D

  19. Xs Says:

*rolls up sleeves* Ok host, Lets do this, I (your greatest(est) fan) need to win this phone to meet you thus I shall win it … but only to meet you …

Did host see the stylus that comes in the box of the n97? Cuz yes it does ship with one …. me thinks RG used the stylus as a guitar pick or something because in this day and age with one handed usage of mobiles, even the non-touch ones is kinda-well, the norm. So adding a stylus to the box is highly suggestive.

Another thing, I guess new to the Nokia in general is (please correct me if I’m wrong here) but the fact that this is the first nokia to not use the traditional 2-mm charger jack but a micro-usb charger.

The biggest drawback of this phone is that even though its quite the thing to look at, (when i first saw it my eyes popped a little) and I wanted to grab it and make a run for it, it turns out the OS its sitting on is VERY dated, sadly, thats not a good thing. Why?

Those who own (and actually like) their 5800 express music phones can be happy that this phone might actually mean good reliable and signed apps for their phones cuz this is essentially sitting on a S60 5th Edition OS, which is somewhat a relic.

But all is not lost, those who know of Qik (the mobile platform that allows users to share LIVE videos) will be interested to know that the N97 is the one and only device — regardless of platform, manufacturer, whatever delineation you like — that currently allows them to capture near-HD widescreen video. Granted, a good 5 megapixel camera with so-called “nHD” 642 x 358 video recording capability at 30fps certainly helps, but Qik also found that S60 allowed them to interact directly with the N97’s DSP in ways that other platforms wouldn’t dream of allowing.

However, while in terms of memory, camera, and blah blah, the n97 out-performs the 3Gs and even the upcoming revise of the G1, Resistive touch just doesn’t compare to the slickness of capacitive touch technology and that is the most critical component to the whole thing and the delay for the desktop to roll over without any apps on it (about 03:48) is proof of that.

n97 does have a qwerty in it (which also makes it clunkier) 3gs simply added a horizontal keyboard, and to ice the cake, added a phone locater to it giving you its precise location, and also giving you the ability to remotely wipe your phone in case you “lose” it.

I don’t know about you, but to me, in Karachi, heck, in Pakistan. That is what (if it catches on, and apple (in pakistan) play their cards right in terms of marketing) will be the n97 killer, rather than the other way around.

p.s. I’ve heard the top row of the keyboard is too close to the screen and thus is a pain.

There, a 100% honest review, I’ll wait and see how people perceive it and maybe even post a 100% ZLORG i’m in love with this phone review :P

  20. Mir Says:

Well Xs, nice overlook, i have E51 that is gttn old.

  21. Shahid Sharif Says:

great lookin phone, its everything a person looks for in a phone and more (key board). one of the major upper hands it has over the iphone is that its got a bluetooth 2.0. finally ipeople can share pictures and songs with us regular people. ohhhh 32GB internal memory yaay!! that’s all the songs and videos we’ll ever need, plus we dont need to get them from itunes. Watching movies on the N97’s 3.5 inch TFT display beats staring into traffic or waiting for a meeting to start. by the looks of it the N97 could take a few “by mistake” drops and still be able to function, unlike the iphone…..light weight….

  22. rabia garib Says:

@Xs Yours certainly is a long review so well done for rolling up your sleeves. And it must be stated that if you HAD an N97, you wouldn’t NEED to roll up your sleeves!!

Thank you for pointing out the video quality and I’m not too sure how the Android interfaces will do in this part of the world where Open Source is only limited to a specific segment. In the phone’s defense, I never had the opportunity to beef up the phone with more apps though I’m relatively sure that anything you need, is only a website away.

However, since you didn’t even MENTION pricing and the automatic geotagging of images and video, AND you called the phone CLUNKY!!!! I’m wondering whether yours is worth considering in the running. *Hmmmmsss…

Of course the fact that you want to meet Host and NOT me and are a fan of hers and NOT mine (like Imran Hussain and Haris Nadeem) I need to re-think this MORE than a bit.

You are, however, welcome to post some more!
Thanks for stopping by again! And Njoy the BiteFight ads! ;-)

  23. Sharjeel Ahmed Qureshi Says:

N97 leaves a strong impression at the first glance, especially having the name “Nokia” tagged with it induces bias in one’s mind. However after revealing the initial details, any smartphones enthusiast would immediately get to notice that since Nokia is new in this market, they have a long way to go before coming up with something that would make a user of this niche really happy.

Clearly they have tried aligned themselves to encash the iPhone hype and tap themselves as “iPhone killer”. That is the marketing side. On the practical side, they have copied much of the stuff from HTC Touch Pro 2. You can see the clear resemblance could be seen at http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_touch_pro2-pictures-2690.php.

Unfortunately, when you copy something or pose yourself to be XYZ killer, you have to do a much better job than your competitors. If they were to compete with iPhone or HTC, they should have done their work with due diligence by putting deep thoughts on every minute details to make sure user gets happy. However, one can see even from the video above that this not the case. As soon as the reviewer starts disassembling you can see the contrast of metal and plastic. The two surfaces start mistmatching quickly after constant rubbing in pocket that after few months the phone starts looking like the age of 3310. So the next thing they may boast about is the keyboard. Just compare its keyboard with that of HTC. N97’s teeny-wheeny keyboard consists of only three rows which look pretty crappy even from pics but look at where the space key is: next to to “M” key. Space is the most used key and even a person like me who hardly understands usability could tell you that just like HTC they should have placed it where it is on normal keyboards. According to the review “Who cares, it looks pretty”. If Nokia is selling it as decoration piece worth 65K which could be used for ooooh, aaah then here is a better decoration piece that actually works better as well: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sharjeelqureshi/3134954965/

So they have introduced apps + marketspace as well. That seems like a good idea. But think about it; iPhone platform, Android, WinMo, Blackberry and now another one by Nokia. They must have enhanced on top of their existing Symbian platform to support touch apps. Even then, it is a nightmare for developers to port apps to further platforms. I am skeptical they would ever get really useful apps for end-users.

I am shocked to know that the sound quality is not good, something unsual by Nokia. But again, they are now tapping into different slightly market.

On the positive side there are some small good things. Force feedback on touchscreen adds up to subjective well being of the user. Camera of smart phones is usually very crappy but such surely Nokia excels at multimedia stuff. Infact they have a camera cover which I assume automatically activates the phone camera and you don’t have to find the camera app all the way.

(Review video viewed using HTC TyTN II/Opera Mobile … can you do that using N97?)

PS: I think I’ve been too honest in criticizing. This seems like a Nokia Competition so no prize for me?

  24. Imran Hussain Says:

OMG !!! I wanna win the E63!! Stop putting up such long competitive comments guys!

  25. MainEvent Says:

Nice one xssie…put up some good work in that review…rarely u see this kind of it,based on reliable arguements…though,im not too eeger about the N series @ nokia…ive been working in phone industry for about an year as a technician.. personally i didn’t had the occasion this far to handle an n97…but regarding is predecessor… the n96…had too many SW and HW bugs to really and equally complete with other phones in its class… So,personally i’d think twice before buying this phone.. :)

  26. Imran Hussain Says:

Sharjeel, Nokia isn’t new in the smartphone market, infact it’s one of the oldest players in it. Nokia infact brought the smartphone to the masses through the likes of 6630, 7610, 7710, 9210, 3230, 6260, 6600, 3650 and not to forget the 7650 ( and many others! ) If anything, Nokia deserves credit for creating a whole new market for smartphones that anyone could pick and use thanks to the Symbian OS.
Apple only came in recently and changed the game by introducing a lot of high level functionality in the iPhone, which coupled with subsidies has become very popular.

  27. Fariha Akhtar Says:

Aren’t all live beelaagers supposed to get a nice phone like N97 that they can use to livebeelaag? :P Hope u get the hint! :D

  28. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

I am a Nokia user and I know the fact that pioneers lead the way! Nokia is not only a pioneer in the current cellphone/smartphone rush but also has brought the best to the market!

I strongly disagree to Sharjeel when he says that the spacebar should be at the center. It is not a normal keyboard that you use with your PC and type with all the 10 fingers. It is a cellphone QWERTY keyboard and you have to type with your thumbs so would it be more convenient to access the spacebar again and again at the center or just near your right thumb???

Secondly, the criticism that the sound quality is shockingly bad is not a justice at all! N97 has not only a very good sound quality but is also far louder than 5800 Xpress music! (If you don’t believe, have a look at this video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4d3WvhYi8I ) and it has got the built-in equalizer too which gives it an edge on several competitors!

And yes, Nokia never said that N97 is an iPhone killer, it is what people say! It has got great things which iPhone has failed to provide. Though funny, but I’ve covered most of the aspects which iPhone failed in, in my comment above! Another thing which gives N97 an edge over iPhone is that its memory can be extended by 16 GBs so it has a maximum of 48 GB whereas the iPhone limits to 32GB. It has also got dual LED camera flash and video light, iPhone has not!

I agree to the point that it outshines the Android phones too. Either you look at the G1 or the latest HTC hero, they can’t meet the slickness of N97. All Android Phones have got a chin ( a little emboss at the front bottom) which reduces the ease of access to the touch screen. N97 has got a tilt instead. Play a video on the cool screen, place it on the table and enjoy. In case of all other phones, you can’t do this. So this a simple feature that is simply great! However, android has got some better apps that Symbian and thus N97 doesn’t have. Also Android is working aggressively to attract the developers which Nokia/Symbian has been failing in. (upto now!) Android has now got the C/C++ support too, so the 3rd party apps for Android will be far better than the ones available for Symbian.

Many compare N97 with Samsung Omnia HD. But the fact is that Samsung’s phones are always far behind the race when it comes to usability. Omnia’s buttons on the front panel are the worse example of usability. They are a little hard to press and since they are located very close to the lower edge, you are very much likely to drop the phone while pressing them. Otherwise you’ll get your thumbs aching or to have to grab the phone with both hands.

Video playback in N97 is at 30fps but the real edge is its near-DVD quality (nHD 16:9) video recording. N97 has also got a TV-out so you can play videos on your TV too!

One thing which is far far important is being missed to discuss is the GPS receiver with support for assisted GPS (A-GPS)Nokia Maps with integrated compass and A-GPS receiver. It has also got the Multimedia city guides and navigation services,
voice guided car navigation, or pedestrian-optimized turn-by-turn guidance.

In addition to Bluetooth and HSDPA it has got wi-fi too, so the users in 3G-less countries (like me ;) )can enjoy high data rates.

iPhone has 320 x 480 pixels whereas N97 has 640×360 pixels (16 million colours). It has also the FM radio! Does iPhones has it? :-/ Also, the standard micro USB connector and the USB mass storage (Just like conventional flash drive) make N97, a Swiss army knife! You have a whole office in your pocket when you have N97!

  29. [_Emissary_] Says:

Gogogoogogogogogog Xs !!! hope you will … get that nokia or the cool tools :D

  30. MainEvent Says:

to the preposter….personally i wouldn’t compare n97 with the Omnia HD…i am a normal omnia user and i can say as a general observation that its a “high-class”..but,coming to the HD,i just don’t see anything special about it…i rather compare the n97 with the I8000 from samsung..

  31. Syed Talha Izhar Says:

@Fariha: I think all live blaageers should get a netbook not N97… What do you say?? :P

  32. Imran Hussain Says:

unfair! awais naseer kiyani made 2 review entries!

  33. [zmaster] Says:

    Nice review Xs!

  34. EwR Says:

Nice one Xss i wish i could buy the n97 but still too expensive for me :( .

  35. Xs Says:

    @Imran Hussain:

Thats just cuz he knows my post is cooler than his post :P

I’m too tired right now but i’ll post a few more reviews in the coming days … Awais has no idea how much “I be doing the wanting of meeting the host and I also be doing the wanting of the super-coolness of the e63i.” *insert drool all-over keyboard here*

@Rabia: pfft i’m not your fan, never will be, I do aspire to be more of a student in your immensely wise presence. *bows in the presence of thy wisdom acquired over a millennium*

Besides, rumor has it that Host is also somehow related to the Stig from TopGear, and they say that she uses a nuclear accelerator like the one CERN is building to make popcorn in her backyard. Is that true? and if it is you can’t blame me for wanting to meet her …

She is the ultra coolness yaar :P

  36. rabia garib Says:

@Xs Ummm… Did you just “Pfft” me!???!?! OH MY GAWD!!! @Host? We have to kick this goon off the planet!!

@Fariha I agree and we’re still trying to surprise you with one!!!
@Imran!!! STOP BEING A BABY!! Grow up, man!!! This @Xs char just took the carpet out from under your keyboard and we’re all STILL waiting for you to react!!! ARe you man or mouse?? *giggles

@Sharjeel and @Imran – True that Apple is only recently in the Phone space, but the iPod Touch and iPhone are hardly JUST phones!! They are COOL devices… not just phones.. And because they aren’t in the primary phone market, they have a better perspective with what the design and functionality of a phone SHOULD be… Nokia is King of phones but Apple is Kind of entertainment!

Everyone – I’m still not very convinced.. So far I think I’m the only one who REALLY deserves this phone! MMUUHAHHAHAAHAHAH!

  37. Rossa Says:

Xss should get n97, he have so many friends who waiting for his posts on our forum from testing this nice tool :D When he will get it, he will be happy and many, many ppl who support him will be happy too :)

  38. Chewbaka Says:

Xss, omg that review was so great, it should be engraved on a piece of stone!!!!

    raawr

  39. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

@Imran Aagay aagay dekhiyay hota he kia! :D

  40. Imran Hussain Says:

@awais lol mujhey nahi dekhna. Kuch dekhney ke kabil hi nahi tha abhi tak to aagey kya khaak ho ga!

Anyhow, I’ve already posted my comment. So i’m just waiting for the winner to be announced.

[grin]The winner as decided by unanimous vote of 2 (me and my sister) is ME, for causing the least mayhem here. Thank you. I will collect my reward tomorrow.[/grin]

  42. Bilal Curmally Says:

wow that was quite the review I must say…although i liked all the harry potter references…

moving along swiftly, the biggest flaw I could find for this phone is sluggish reaction off the touch screen, so slow I fell asleep, its the same issue i’m having with xpress music 5800. The response time of the touch screen take a while so i usually take a small nap when i ask my phone to do something. The N97 is to bulky it’ll be like carrying a rock in your pocket or in the phone pouch or something. The home screen is way to cluttered (reminds me of visuals of my room and my mum nagging me to clean it). The os is the same symbian stuff nokia uses yawn boring again. Having the full qwerty keyboard kinda defeats the purpose of a touch screen phone may as well go back to the stoneage imate days and nokia communicator days.Having used the iphone I would never buy this phone and if i wasnt strapped for cash id throw my 5800 out of the window as well. All an all nothing new and exciting in this phone same ol generic run of the mill nokia n series stuff, well atleast its not shaped like a taco like the very first ngage phone was :) and plus this phone is capable of using the ngage game apps which so far seems to be the only thing that is saving this phone. If nokia thinks this is the iphone killer i think they should wake up from that dream and apologize to apple. :D

  43. Bilal Curmally Says:

wow i just scrolled and saw how many ppl are actively commenting on this *aaaahhh head explodes* sorry xs dunt have the patience to read all of these posts and well i have my show waiting for me hmmmmm tveeeeeeeee and media box goodness filled with hdeeeee……

  44. Awais Imran Says:

I’ll be short, pithy and concise. I’d make this longer and more detailed, but I believe that will only cause problems, than solving the solution at hand.

    The Good:
Garum design. Keyboard that actually rivals BlackBerry. Camera exists. The up and coming Ovi store. Standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Wi-Fi support. Comparatively cheap (wrt E71). Beautiful display. Ambient-light-level-adjustor thingy is good for the battery and the eyes. The colors (blue and red): WEHSHI. Micro-USB connector for ALMOST universal connectivity.

    The Bad:
Camera is all-vanilla flavoured (plain/bland). Navigation with d-pad is cumbersome. Browsing is slow, hard (REALLY hard cause of the equally hard d-pad) and not so easy on the eyes.

    The Fugly:
The outdated Symbian OS is absolute CRAP. It runs slowly, it looks fugly, it works non-productively and asks too much questions. Nokia needs (and is going) to get rid of it. Major overhaul is a must now.

    :D

This doesn’t look very pretty without HTML.

  45. Awais Imran Says:

No conclusion, no intro to the review. Simple and to the point. *hint hint*

  46. Syed Talha Izhar Says:

OK. So I have read and wrote enough… BUT I just needed to tweet and my cell fone just cant do that..

I cant buy this N97 beauty but I can surely get E63 else I am gonna send my cell phone to SWAT for suicide attack at the enemy…;)

  47. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

@Bilal ROFL!! you are too lazy and sleeeeeeeeepy! N97 ka koi qusoor nhi he! :D

and yes, isn’t it a good deal to keep whole office in your pocket at the size (and weight) of a rock? :P

  48. Xs Says:

    @Awais Imran:
The near HD quality camera is plain/bland????? Do you know that those giant bulky cameras that TV-News crews lug around, produce roughly the same (if not lower, Bilal/RG comments?) quality as the n95 camera! and this one is better than that. I mean i’ve made it obvious i’m on the “lets diss n97, cuz we can’t afford it” party but the camera is actually (at-least on paper) very VERY good.

    @Awais Naseer:
A Mobile is intended to be simple, easy and quick. I blame the “No talking/using mobile phone law” with a 500 PKR challan on rubbish phones like this one which make the process so tedious and gruesome that FOOLS who don’t know how to use their TOOLS end up in accidents.

I ask you all, ALL OF YOU!!!

What is the Unique BUYING Proposition of this phone that makes it better than all others of its class to a user?
My opinion, Aesthetics and the dashboard.

Yeah you heard me, I love the dashboard feature of the phone, but i know i’ll end up removing all of the things on it shortly cuz an OS/Hardware combo like this one’s will end up laggin my experience, something I can’t have on a mobile.

@Nokia, if they are watching: Don’t get me wrong, I’ve made more than one (pun intended) plan to rob a n97 just cuz its so cool and I MUST have it, but thats kinda it. I won’t pay for the n97, its functionality just does not give me a better ROI than others its price range.

*walks away to drive while talking on his k700i and text on his Nokia 1200, while cracking jokes @ people who have to solve linear equations each time they need to dial out, or better yet, quadratic equations while texting.

psst. you can carry your office on tons and tons of phones … BB, Iphone, 5800, most of the N series, most of the e-series.

  49. Bilal Curmally Says:

    @Awais
dude its not just the fact that im usually sleepy and lazy, its the fact that the N97 and nokia express music 5800 are slow touch screens. The iphone when you give the touch screen a command it does it real quick, second of all when enter the menu for these nokia touch phone and you turn the phone sideways the screen first stays top up goes blank for a second and then readjusts itself, whereas the iphone does it in a nice fluent smooth dissolve manner.
No its not nice having a heavy pocket office that weights at times when your dead as much as a dead dog. If I wanted an office app phone id go for the conventional black berry. How often do you find yourself making an excel spread sheet or a powerpoint presentation on your cell phone?? Phones like the iphone and n97 etc are for checking your mail, playing video games and listening to music all at the same time making a fashion statement.
The minute one of these phones can introduce say a final cut pro or final cut studio application while launching a nuclear bomb at your enemies then id consider a phone that weights as much as a dead dog.
Nokia hasnt done anything new with this phone, its boring no innovation and nothing to keep you excited and looking forward to…This phone is a fancy way of checking your mail getting a few ooos and aaahs from people who check it out but at the same time you hating this phone and wonder why o why didnt i stick with the nokia1200 and keep an ipod…!
For me on an honest level makes no sense,a million non touch screen phones out there that are more economical giving me the same functionality and boring symbian os that you can pick from and still not feel like a jack ass cause it gets the job done :)

  50. Bilal Curmally Says:

    @ xs
nope better for the news crew to use the old stoneage cameras they are using then the phone ones for obvious reasons, I dont think i need to explain them to you…
@ xs to quote you by copy pasting:
“What is the Unique BUYING Proposition of this phone that makes it better than all others of its class to a user?
My opinion, Aesthetics and the dashboard. ”

nope aesthetics wise this phone looks horrible, it looks like a rock and a cheap copy of the iphone (you can hate me as much as u like for that comment but you know deep down its true). Second of all the dashboard is horrible, as ive already mentioned its cluttered and too over whelming. the first time you switch on a phone you want it to look all nice and shiny. hell the first time you switch on any electronic equipment you want it to look nice and clean and shiny that you can show off to people and be like hey eat my shorts lucy man…
@ xs once again to quote you in the same manner
“*walks away to drive while talking on his k700i and text on his Nokia 1200, while cracking jokes @ people who have to solve linear equations each time they need to dial out, or better yet, quadratic equations while texting.”
I agree with you a 100%. having a huge bulky phone thats a pain to carry is really not worth the hassle. Waste of money. Thats were the iphone beats any other phone is cause of its size and weight. Sure it may not have an awesome camera but hey everybody knows if you really want to take good pictures you wont buy a phone youd buy a sony cyber shot or a dslr camera, which ironically costs much less than the n97 LAWL!!!
Once again the only thing saving this phone right now is the ngage application. Nokia has sent the revolution of their phones sexiness back to the stone ages.
Has any1 else as well noticed the various entertaining anti-spam words that pop up…good job on that by the way, really spices stuff up iam enjoying them…!:)

  51. Xs Says:

    @Bilal:
Hey I’ve had the k700i so long now the world seems better when i look at it … you’ve owned the iphone … so obviously you’ll be a spoiled brat about aesthetics.

The dashboard is still cool, its like having google desktop on your PC, and just like it, you’ll like it for 3 days, get bored of it on the 4th, annoyed when you realize its eating up your processor power on the 5th, and then delete it on the 6th.

But hey, you can’t deny its ooohhhh and aaaaaaahhhh power … and now you know why I’m the host’s greatest(est) fan that sometimes I even sit outside the CIO office to meet her, but then she never walks in the entrance but the show still gets done … I think there must be some truth to the rumor that she actually hired scotty on a daily wage to beam her from place to place and that she pays him in toys from McDonald’s Kids meals.

  52. Bilal Curmally Says:

    @ xs:
its not about being a brat, yes owning an iphone is hindering my judgment here, but hey everybody loves a quality phone that looks sexy…a phone like that i may as well tie a love note to and throw it through your window…incase you didnt get what i was implying … i like throwing love notes to you lol…oo yeah and the nokia N97 looks like a rock.
And luke iam your scotty mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  53. Host Says:

WHAT? Is this STILL going on????????
I thought it had been decided that the iPhone is the coolest / sexiest phone out there…… why do we keep trying to compare these other “mortal” phones with it….

Just do the review boys and girls and move on…. the iPhone ate everyone’s lunch some time ago!

Even though I do not like “virtual keyboards”, a thing of beauty is a thing of beauty…. and one should give credit where it is due…. iPhone looks purrddy… the rest of them phones are all wannabees… I say this as I embark on my new adventure of trying to jump onto the BB bandwagon (it has nothing to do with aesthetics or functionality) but with an old and deep love…. all for a bloody app that is only available on the BB! Dammit!

So finally New Nokia N97 arrives in hand of Pakistanis, who usually want to have a new mobile phone to show up in front of friends and other people of their circle but this time they have a mobile phone which really deserve to be show up. A new and cool tech communication gadget for all those who are always need some thing more than a mobile. Nokia N97 has many features which are similar to other mobile phones but it has several features which are still not present in others till now. Let me reviewed it on basis of hardware first and then functionality as well as comparison with a strong competitor iPhone 3GS.
    Review on Hardware:
N97 contains a very attractive and shiny metallic shape with touch screen and slide able QWERTY keyboard.
    • On front it has a user facing camera, multimedia menu and of course a touch screen 
    • On left it has a sliding lock to prevent accidentally opening of keyboard and a Micro USB port to connect it with PC, adapter and other compatible device.
    • On right N97 has a manual camera button and controlling keys for volume and camera zoom.
    • On back it has a superb 5MP Camera with slide cover to protect lens.
    • On top it has a power button and a 3.5 mm headset plug which you can use for both audio and video output.
    Review on Interface and Features:
Quad band and 150 g in weight, Nokia N97 features GSM/HSDPA air interface technology with talk time up to 10 hours and standby time Up to 432 hours.
    Graphical User Interface:
It has a very attractive shape with good resolution touch screen of 55 x 117 x 16 mm, with Symbian OS “the best mobile phone operating system on earth”.
You can customize your default interface as per your requirements by change the position of desktop items by dragging them to here and there with your finger tip.
You can switch the view by changing mobile position.

    User Friendly QWERTY keyboard:
It has a very very privileged feature of slide able QWERTY keyboard, which makes life easier for those users who are messaging holliac. Now they can type fast as well as with full comfort as it is too flexable to hold on. Also an attached support makes this keyboard strong and helps in providing a comfortable view while you are typing or watching multimedia on N97.
    Picture and Video Capturing:
Nokia N97 contains a 5MP camera which captures DVD quality video with 30 frames per sec. More features are 2584×1938 pixels, autofocus, and Carl Zeiss optics.
Secondary camera for video calls and VGA @ 15fps
    Multimedia:
Nokia N97 contains media player which supports MP3/WMA/WAV/eAAC+ audio and MPEG4/WMV/3gp video player.
Also support Stereo FM radio with RDS and Visual radio; FM transmitter

    Media Connectivity:
GPRS of Class32 make N97 unique in action
3G technology with data transfer rate of 3.6 Mbps and HSDPA

    Wi-Fi with UPnP technology and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
    Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP
    USB v2.0 microUSB
GPS tracking with Built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support, Digital compass, and Nokia Maps 2.0 Touch
Use full screen browser with fastest scroll down feature in keyboard. Browser support with special feature of playable flash video in it which is not present in others even in IPhone u can’t. By default its open websites in standard mobile website version u can zoom in and out it as per your requirements.
N97 is highly supportive for social media like FaceBook and Twitter.
    Memory:
Nokia N97 has another great feature it has internal memory of 128 MB RAM and 32GB internal memory32 with additional expand micro SD Ram slot. Mean you can add 16 GB additional memory and 32 GB soon in future. WOW
    Accessories:
With N97 Nokia provides standard usb cable so if u lost it or don’t take it with you then you can get another one easily or use someone’s cable.
Head phone with option of plug head pone of ur own choice with complete play forward rewind control
You can charge it with usb as well as direct charges. A connector is also available with a usb to standard nokia charger convertor.

  73. Atif Zain Says:

why N97 is better than iPhone 3G S

During my research i found 10 reasons why N97 is better than iPhone 3G S

    • Nokia N97 is smart and easy to carry with it’s less size as compare to IPhone
    • Nokia N97 has a 5 MP camera while iPhone is not famous for its camera.
    • N97 has an additional camera in front for video conferencing while iPhone has not
    • N97 has an standard USB connectivity which maintaince in all new Nokia sets while iPhone use Ipod cables which definitely not so common.
    • N97 has better sound output and iPhone 3G S has not
    • N97 supports Flash movies in browsers while iPhone 3Gs not
    • N97 has option of extandable memory while iPhone has not.
    • As N97 has Symbian OS so its softwares are easily available on net while iPhone has Apple OS so people have limited options for that.
    • N97 contains class 3 GPRS technology while iPhone contains standard GPRS
    • N97 has standard QWERTY keyboard for use while iPhone has not.

  74. Imran Hussain Says:

    • Nokia N97 is smart and easy to carry with it’s less size as compare to IPhone
    – N97 is bulky when compared to the iPhone. Both in thickness and weight.

    • Nokia N97 has a 5 MP camera while iPhone is not famous for its camera.
    – The iPhone is way more famous for its camera. The Hudson river plane crash image was taken using an iPhone and twitpic’d which later made it to CNN as well.

    • N97 has an additional camera in front for video conferencing while iPhone has not
    – Video conferencing never took off. No one actually misses this feature. Specially in Pakistan, where it’s useless.

    • N97 has an standard USB connectivity which maintaince in all new Nokia sets while iPhone use Ipod cables which definitely not so common.
    – umm the iPhone is also connected via the USB. And the iPod is very very common.

    • N97 has better sound output and iPhone 3G S has not
    – The iPhone is also an iPod. ’nuff said.

    • N97 supports Flash movies in browsers while iPhone 3Gs not
    – the N97 has Flash Lite 3 support. Not the full fledged desktop flash.

    • N97 has option of extandable memory while iPhone has not.
    – that’s an advantage the N97 has.

    • As N97 has Symbian OS so its softwares are easily available on net while iPhone has Apple OS so people have limited options for that.
    – umm WHAT? Do you know about the App Store? It has 50,000 apps! Even the Ovi Store doesn’t have that much. The iPhone beats the N97 and ever other cellphone badly in terms of software support!

    • N97 contains class 3 GPRS technology while iPhone contains standard GPRS
    – Did u just copy paste all this stuff without reading it? The iPhone 3G has GPRS class 4 supprt along with Edge and UMTS/HSDPA.

    • N97 has standard QWERTY keyboard for use while iPhone has not.
    – That’s not a bad thing for the iPhone. Most users do not want a QWERTY keyboard. Even the Express music series of Nokia phones which is targeted towards the youth do not have QWERTY keyboards.

I know I’ve defended the iPhone where as I should be reviewing the plus points of N97 for the competition but you know if you want do a review of the N97, do some proper research Atif.

The better things in N97 imo are:
    - Widgets on the home screen. Excellent idea to provide users a dashboard which shows their social networks.
    - Battery life. It’s much much better than the iPhone. Probably one of the best in its class along with the fact that its interchangeable.
    - Unlocked. The biggest gripe most users have with the iPhone is that it comes tied with a service in most countries.
    - NGage compatible – this gaming platform has great potential and the N97 can take advantage of that.
    - Durable – a lot of stress tests have shown that it can survive drops, key scratches, water and other hazards very well. Google iPhone broke screens and you’ll know. ;)
    - TV support. Something the iPhone doesn’t have at all.
    - Video formats. The N97 can play a huge variety of video formats. How? It has great freedom for app development, and we’ve always had divx, xvid videos players for the series 60 platform.
Also, the design of the N97 is such that you can put it on a table without the need of any third party accessory ( stand ) for video viewing. It has a perfect hinge suitable for video viewing and supports itself on a surface.
Widescreen 16:9 ratio support gives you better video viewing than the iPhone which doesn’t have true widescreen video playback.
    - choice of browsers. you’re not restricted to a browser like Safari on iPhone. Nokia gives you choice and freedom.
    - multitasking. iPhone FAILS at that. you have the freedom to run apps in the background.
    - Useful Bluetooth – the Bluetooth in N97 is fully functional unlike the restricted crappy version of Bluetooth in the iPhone.
    - LED Flash with the camera. We all know how important flash is in bad lit situations. The N97 even allows video recording with the LED lights on which is awesome.
    - Nokia is everywhere. If your iPhone stops working, you’ll have a fair amount of trouble in getting it fixed, specially in Pakistan. Also, they’ll charge you a lot here for the fixing. Not so much with Nokia. They have worldwide presence.
    - 5MP with autofocus and LED Flash knock the socks off many other camera phones. Great picture quality.
    - the keyboard is better than other phones. it’s spacious and can easily be typed on.
    - Windows Live applications on Nokia. Also you have support for almost every email service out there built into the device by default.

That’s all I have in my mind right now to convince anyone to buy the N97 :P Of course, it has a lot more features that are available in other devices too, but according to me, these are the ones that stand out the most for an average Pakistani user.

  75. Xs Says:

Atif very interesting post. However, I do ask a few things of you …

    1. Your hardware review was essentially a copy of Hosts Transcription. Did you see the video?

    2. in GUI you say “It has a very attractive shape with good resolution touch screen of 55 x 117 x 16 mm, with Symbian OS “the best mobile phone operating system on earth”.”

Really? a relic of an OS is the best? I mean if you just screamed out, I love nokia cuz I want that phone. It might have been more subtle.

The rest of the GUI was also already covered in the video.

    3. Connectivity:
You say “Browser support with special feature of playable flash video in it which is not present in others even in IPhone u can’t.”
Ahem, think about that again. (a) Android OS can easily play flash vids, so only because the iPhone can’t you saying that this phone has beaten the king, well, guess again ;)
    (b) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djkYrLoZBb0&eurl=http://www.iskysoft.com/article/play-all-internet-videos-on-ipod-touch.html&feature=player_embedded So, Yes, with one plugin installed, you can play the vids.
P.s. a k700i with an Opera browser can zoom in and outta web pages … whats your point?

    4. Comparison.
“Nokia N97 has a 5 MP camera while iPhone is not famous for its camera.”
O.o here I offer a challenge for you. Try taking a picture with both the phones. While on paper the n97 might be better, in terms of results, the iPhone will win.

    5. “N97 has better sound output and iPhone 3G S has not”
Again, tested the phone in comparison to the 3Gs?

    6. “As N97 has Symbian OS so its softwares are easily available on net while iPhone has Apple OS so people have limited options for that.”
The OS version matters, The OS used for this particular phone is a relic and means you are stuck with few developers developing things for it. the iPhone has tons of developers making things for it.

    7. “N97 has standard QWERTY keyboard for use while iPhone has not.”
Tilt the 3gs Sideways, it gives you an on-screen qwerty keyboard.

    Again @Atif Zain:
Yeah, I believe you didn’t copy paste the review, but thanks for implying we did. :P
However, the reason I believe you is because there are many things you have said which are mostly baseless and I just pointed out 7 things above. Don’t even ask me to give you more references on that.

  76. Haris Nadeem Says:

Lol, I like your anti-spam words :D It is showing me Potato Head right now :P

Okay, moving on to the Nokia N97… I recently got a chance to play with it at the N97 display event in Lahore and wasn’t really impressed by this phone.

I actually went with the intention of buying it from there as they were also offering some extra Nokia goodies with the phone, which you won’t get anywhere else in the market (Pakistan). First I went through the entire demo thingy by the display girl (as if I didn’t already knew the features :P ). After getting in contact with the Nokia Sales guy there, I finally got the phone to play with it. Holding that device was cool – gave you the feeling of a powerful mini-computing device in your hand. And yes, it WAS bulky! Being a Nokia N96 user, I didn’t felt the weight much because N96 and N97 both are bulky. After checking out the exterior, I tapped the home screen and to my surprise nothing really happened. I tapped it several times but nothing on the screen. After a few tries, when a display girl saw me playing with the screen, came and told me to press it HARDER! (sigh, happens when you’re an iPhone or iPod Touch user) LOL. The interface was exactly the same as Nokia 5800 and the overall processor speed was just a tiny winy bit faster than the 5800. And just for everyone wondering if they should buy it or not, IT’S JUST A PHONE!

In the end, I’ll only say that being a N96 user, I only found FOUR major differences between N97 and N96. Nokia N97 has that sliding thing (which was the only thing that appealed to me – Yes, I loved that!), it has 32GB of internal memory compared to 16GB of N96. N97 has a touch-screen and is powered by the S60 5th Edition OS. Nothing ground-breaking in it! So if you already have one of the recent N-series phones or even Nokia 5800, I’d not suggest anyone to get N97. Even I decided to skip this phone after playing with it. Now I’m planning to go for an iPhone or something else, maybe HTC.

And if I win anything from here, I’d most probably gift it to my mom as she is looking for a new phone these days.

man u guys know something out of this whole discussion the only thing i learnt was spamming lol…im just joking there…but like i get the excitement over the N97 and id be a liar if i said there arnt very many nokia fans out there. But i have been noticing a new trend that people are slowly moving out of the whole crack berry phase and moving into the iphone phase for their office use…and from what ive seen the e61 and the iphone are almost the same out there quantity wise.
The only issue any1 on this forum really has with nokia is the ancient os…and they know that too but i dont see them really doing anything about it either which is sad cause we all started out with out 1st phone being a nokia phone and now u know we’ve lost that love for them due to them now being just the same average run of the mill nokia phones which is boring at the end of the day cause ur phone has to have an entertainment value as well for days when ur bored or watever and 3rd party apps that r free really make it worth while and for apple to sign them into their company n all was a brilliant strategic movie…i dont deny the tech capabilities of the n97 but as i stated before 60+ for a 5mega pixel camera is a bad move and the person to by that need to have their heads examined. for that amount you can get a dslr 35mm camera. Its a hands down thought that the N97 will fail slowly due to the os and the slow touch screen. Use an iphone and ull know why im saying that. And incase people think im biased think again I AM USING A NOKIA TOUCH SCREEN PHONE USING THE SAME OS and it is sad its the worst move i ever made and its an epic waste of money, the nokia 5800 and the n97 really when it comes to hard practical usage are the same and well they both suck that way. I suggest instead of searching the internet and finding different reviews you actually use a phone and then complain and decide which is better!!!!!

    @Atif
    * N97 has 360 x 640 pixels and 3.5 inches touchscreen, not 55 x 117 x 16 mm touch screen

    * What makes you say that Symbian is the best mobile OS in the world? I agree Symbian is good but iPhone OS 3.0 is best so far and I see Android taking its place soon!

    * iPhone has been integrated with RFID! Can Symbian do that? Have a look at this video! http://www.nearfield.org/2009/04/iphone-rfid-nfc

*FYI iPhone has now got the flash Lite support!

*N97 is not easy to carry and light weight than iPhone! iPhone weighs 135 gms whereas N97 is of 150 gms! iPhone is 115.5 mm x 62.1 mm x 12.3 mm whereas N97 is 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9 mm, so which is more bulky????

*Has symbian got more apps or the iPhone?? iTunes store has 50000 apps! Symbian has not!

    @Imran

*iphone is connected via USB but it cannot be used as a flash drive. 2ndly the connector at the iPhone-side is not standard micro-USB!

*What? Only Safari?? Have a look here! You can use so many browsers on iPhone!! Use whatever you want on your iPhone! [iTunes Link] http://ax.search.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSearch.woa/wa/search?entity=software&media=software&submit=seeAllLockups&term=browser

*OMG!! iPhone fails at Multi-tasking?? Com’on Imran! Come out of the stone age! iPhone OS 3.0 has multitasking and push-notifications support!!!

  80. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

@Haris Many have already tried that! Like Imran had announced a fake result! You’ll also not succeeedd!! Muhahahahahahaha :D

  81. Xs Says:

Hails the Rat king and his wise words.

    @Haris:
Don’t worry I don’t think RG will consider the reviews posted after the deadline … Besides, the Rat King already has a pretty good review well in time that we should worry about.

    @Awais:
Man, I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for the results :) )

  82. rabia garib Says:

Okay guys… No reviews BEYOND THIS POINT will be considered.. We’ll ping everyone on Twitter and Facebook and CIOPAKISTAN.COM when the result is out!!!

  83. Host Says:

    @Atif

Well done…. however you said the fatal point:

    • As N97 has Symbian OS so its softwares are easily available on net while iPhone has Apple OS so people have limited options for that.

Errr not quite. The Apple iPhone has over 50,000 third party apps while the Nokia models (all the models) together do not support more than a 1000. The Apple SDK beats any phone SDK at this point so …. you’re one point short of why the Nokia N97 is better than the Apple iPhone

    Good Luck nonetheless!

  84. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

and yes! had a nice time with you guys! don’t forget to keep in touch on twitter! I am @Owaeis there. Plz share yours too! ;)

  85. Imran Hussain Says:

    @awais
for a blogger claiming to run a gadgets blog, your information about gadgets is nill. No where did I say that the iPhone can be used as a Flash drive, or it has a micro-USB interface.
If you had a little information, you would know ALL THOSE browsers are based on the Safari engine in iPhone. Different looks, but same browser underneath.
And multitasking? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? ROFLMAO!

  86. Xs Says:

    @Awais:
I will, though I personally am an “online gamer” (if I can call myself that) and run the forums http://destiny.mo-rpg.com

Everyone is always welcome to drop by there … mind you, the posts are rather liberal, and unless you have an open mind to discussions the members tend to be ruthless with their opinions. (You need to sign up in order to see more of the forums, i did that to take some of the sections outta the Google bots vision. Yes sign-up is free)

    @Imran:
Chillax, its over, now we just gotta wait for RG and Nokia to decide the results.

  87. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

@imran Sorry to say, but I really didn’t like how you spoke!. FYI, there is a “not” in all those sentences which you referred to! Please read my comment again!

For your convenience, I’m copying the above comment below! What I had written is:

“*iphone is connected via USB but it cannot be used as a flash drive. 2ndly the connector at the iPhone-side is not standard micro-USB!”

I wander, how did you skip “cannot” and “not” in the above sentence ???????????????????????????????!!!!

  88. Atif Zain Says:

@host @xs…Thanks for your comments… might be u people are right in ur words but what i said is not baseless… how read below

How many sites offer apple software for free as compare to symbian applications? You can get symbian application easily cause its development is open source and for Iphone every software or application needs to pass Apple’s approval..

I don’t say Iphone is bulky but N97 s smart and shorter in size then it..
    @Awais Naseer Keyani:
Symbian is best as it supports other platform more than AppleOS.. and Nokia is also considering about Android…

@ for others…. please do some more research work or read my posts again… i am doing a review not my personal opinion… and whether I am going to win or lose… I am happy with my post so cheer up and keep urself busy with more research work :)

  89. Awais Naseer Keyani Says:

@Imran Again! I don’t want to speak much technically but in simple words, push notifications are displayed as a result of a background process going on!

Last but not least! I don’t claim anything, its a universal truth that I’m a perfecto in gadgets ;)

  90. Imran Hussain Says:

Awais you should look up google and see the difference between multitasking and push notifications. I can’t help but ROFL at you thinking they are the same!!

Multi-tasking means running multiple Apps at the SAME TIME. Push notifications are VERY different.

And not or watever, iPhone does NOT have RFID as u claimed it does.

iPhone does NOT have Flash Lite support.

Thank God you’re not claiming anything. Your claims are a joke already. ;)
