Meezan Bank to provide Cash Management Services to Hamdard: Meezan Bank Limited and Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Pakistan have signed an agreement under which Meezan Bank will provide Cash Management Services to Hamdard Laboratories.
Hamdard Laboratories, which are already banking with Meezan Bank, have now further strengthened their relationship with the bank by utilising its Cash Management Services, under which Meezan Bank, using its online services and large branch network, will manage the entire deposits and payments’ workload with the dealers and clients of Hamdard Laboratories across Pakistan. Meezan Bank and Hamdard Laboratories are also considering the possibility of installing Meezan Bank’s ATMs at Hamdard’s factory premises.

USF, PTCL ink three contracts for providing Broadband Services: Universal Service Fund (USF) has signed three contracts with PTCL for providing Broadband Services in the un-served Urban areas of Southern Punjab and Lower Sindh and for providing Optic Fiber connectivity to all Tehsils in Southern Balochistan. USF shall be paying Rs 1.16 billion for the project to provide broadband in un-served urban areas of Southern Punjab (MTR) and Rs 550 million for providing broadband in lower Sindh (STR-1). Similarly, Rs 1.2 billion will be paid to PTCL for laying 1,166 Km Optic Fiber cables in Southern Balochistan.

Wi-tribe launches wireless broadband service: Wi-tribe, a Qtel Group company, launched its wireless broadband service here on Tuesday. Wi-tribe is described as a ‘instant and simple’ broadband service provider in Pakistan, targeting Internet users, looking for increased freedom from fixed line. The investment that wi-tribe has made and would be making indicates that Pakistan is open for business.
