New Horizon Computers inks pact with Punjab govt: New Horizon Computer signed a contract with Education Department, Government of Punjab for establishment of 824 High School IT Labs in the region of Multan and Bahawalpur. This is a part of the development of 4,286 High School IT Labs that are due to establish all over Punjab in next 110 Days. This “Computer Literacy Revolution Project”, A Brain Child of Visionary Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is first of its kind as not only is the biggest project in the history of Education sector in Pakistan but this project would help to bridge the digital divide between Public and Private Sectors’ schools and will be a source to make country self-sufficient in IT sector.
Ninth ITCN Asia from August 11: The ninth ITCN Asia 2009 will be held here at Karachi Expo Center from August 11 to 13. This was announced by the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). The event would be organized by the PSEB, Ministry of Information Technology in collaboration with the Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan. This has been described as one of the Asia’s biggest international information technology and telecoms shows.
With leading and influential IT experts flying in from around the world, the exhibition will include high-profile international conferences on IT, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), multimedia and broadcasting, and an e-marketing workshop.
