@rabia garib, I can judge people from their Blogs…:P
Does anyone know about “Update Services”?
@Bilal, Errr… as long as you are not in love with Imran Hussain, I think you are okay! And if “you’re okay, I’m okay”! Yes. I am a serious person. Very.
Wow! A phenomenal improvement over the previous episode! Though of course, there is room for further improvement.
Loved the SEO tips you two. Keep it up!
Things to improve upon:
;
.
Bring in more life into the show. (Body language, hil jul, hasee mazaak);
Stop interrupting each other
Work on the graphics
Bas! Otherwise it’s a might fine show. Keep it up WebStudio! Consider me a subscriber!
lol…I am in love with Internet , Adsense and Blagging…
@rabia garib
you seems like a very serious person like Imran Hussain
@Bilal, errr… in addition to being addicted to blagging, are you telepathatic?
@Imran Hussain, Ohh..I knew your gona say that!…
However congrats..you have done a nice video!
@Bilal, please don’t start that here.
Can anyone tell me why all the PAK Tech Bloggers can form a Single team and create a new blog/web like softpedia??
Your most welcome.
Content is the strongest when it comes to writing a blog, but this is a show about
blogging, for those who want to learn more about it, am I right? If yes then presentation
matters alot along with the content.
Its like this, a teacher who has great knowledge about his subject but knows nothing how to
convey his teachings can never really gain more student’s attentions. Similarly there would
be many people who would follow this show but to make it more interesting and to gain more
followers they need to be good in presentation skills too.
You said “nobody really cares what you look like when you are delivering your content since
they can’t see you.”, well I totally agree, what you are talking about is a blog, truly
readers dont care what the blogger was wearing while writing the post, but when it comes to
a show when THEY have to give tips about blogging on a channel then people DO care.
And who’s saying to write them off? They are doing brilliant, I was just telling some rough
edges are yet to smoothen out, “Constructive Criticism”!
I doubt that
try me! I have done this before, in a show of some tv channel, 3 episodes 1 hour each! And I know what its like, it is ALOT easier than speaking infont of a crowd.
Also PakCrunch isnt live too, so you can have multiple takes to make it better
Good effort again! You’ll get a hold of the presentation glitches with more shows. I think you should watch talk shows and other shows like your one to get an idea of the hand movements and talking style. Looking forward to the next episode! Good Luck guys!
How can new pages get indexed quickly?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zcu3fp5G5EI
@rabia garib, just like it was in the first episode. It felt like two friends are discussing about different sites (read blogs) and it was awesome
.
@Imran Good point and agreed.
about presentation skills and all:
First episode of Pakcrunch really really wow-ed me, One thing that bugged me in second episode was that they were reading from paper, which Imran himself noted as well, so I think they will overcome that before third episode. Apart from that I think they are doing a great job. (Y)
So Best of luck guys!
-Salman
@Bilal, That’s a good format suggestion except when both are equal experts… Unless there was a dudd like me on one of the seats who actually WANTS to learn stuff, I think a discussion or presentation style might help them to get more equal airplay… But watch out for Episode 4 – there IS a QnA there!
@Hasan Nizamani, Easier said than done mate. If you were in our seat, I bet you’d perform much badly than us.
@Manan thanks
we’re trying to improve right now, hopefully our presentation will get better with time
I think one guy should be the host and asking questions..
@Hasan I don’t agree with you when you say this episode was not good or great, just nice. Honestly, I don’t understand what you mean by that. And presentation, when you say move your hands around, I don’t think it looks nice when people wave there hands around too much. Its not a lecture with a powerpoint presentation in the background. Also, I don’t think its easy to sit in front of a camera, do a 12 minute show and also try to look comfortable doing it.
I think they look fine. I don’t think moving your hands around is a good idea. I think their content is the most important thing.
Also, everything you’ve said, is easier said than done.
I have made a video about How to increase your blog traffic?
can i publish it here?
I am a Pak Blogger
I belive Imran Hussain won’t like it
@Hasan – Many thanks for the great feedback! All great, great points – I’m sure Fish and Imran would both agree… a few points – my math is a bit weak but I think we’re missing out 2% somewhere in between the body language, voice and content. What did I miss?
It’s actually the content that is the strongest, THEN presentation and followed by everything else. Unless you are a really pretty looking blogger, nobody really cares what you look like when you are delivering your content since they can’t see you. I had requested these guys to come in and do a show that nobody else can bring to life BUT the smart geeks who might not have the best presentation skills, but like so many techies, are very good in their assessment and evaluation. But you’re correct in saying they could be better, more crisper in their content delivery – something that will eventually come with time.
I think these guys have made a HUGE leap of faith in putting themselves out there to be poked and prodded, but are happy about sharing their expertise – that’s why the commenting is so important. If a few people haven’t learned anything and don’t want to share any of their own experiences and compare notes with what these guys are saying, none of this is worth it, is it?
Much akin your comment – they are also passionate and sincere. From where I come from, nothing else really matters…
As for your help, keep the feedback coming, (none of which, I notice, is technical in nature) but I think let’s give these guys a chance before we write them off… They have a long way to go and a lot of people have a lot we can learn from the courage and intellect.
Its nice, not Great, not Good but Nice. With the information you two have you can do alot better
than this! And don’t you give me “Its our first so we would improve soon” sh*t cause that would
be a LAMEST excuse. First impression IS everything, you have to work on your “Presentation
Skills”, YES – PRESENTATION SKILLS!
In your (blogging) language I mean to say that your content is good but the theme you chose is
not! Wrong colours, wrong text alignment and stuff, “UNREADABLE”!
Some aspects on which to work on are bellow, rest to either be googled, binged or meet me after
D.E’s class for a session
First you both should use body-language, cause the percentage of the viewers being influenced by
the speaker are as: 5% are for the content you give, 38% by your voice and 55% for the body-
language.
So first “move your hands people”! Don’t sit still. Don’t hold your hands on top of the table
like that, it gives an impression of “Lack of Confidence” to the viewers also the feeling of
stillness as you keep them like that the whole episode.
Also don’t keep your hands UNDER the table which again shows lack of confidence.
Also try to remove the fillers (umm’s and mm’s) while you’re talking in English, they don’t sound
good.
Keep changing the tone of your voice as it helps the viewers not get bored, I was yawning by the
end of the episode.
If you want to make this a BIG SHOW then you have to be GOOD, you’re technical aspects of
knowledge about blogging is good with quite a good experience as both of you are running
successful blogs, but you have to convey your message in a way that viewers gets interested
instead of yawning and google other blogging tip video instead of yours.
Its your choice
I can help you with it
@Salman if that was the case, search engines would still be easier to game.
Social bookmarking doesn’t improve the placement of your own links the social bookmark page for your link shows up somewhat high which can be good for you, but not something that falls under SEO, as your website still wouldn’t be optimized for search traffic via this.
@Imran @Bilal, traffic sure, but IMO search engines think/consider that if more sites link to you it means your content is good, it’s worth linking to, so it improves the placement of your link in search results as well.
But that’s just my opinion. it might be completely incorrect but in any case if it doesn’t help your search engine ranking well it’s not doing any harm to it as well.
-Salman
@ Imran Hussain
I do agree with you but we all know Big websites [Digg] get indexed by Google very very Quickly! I have been using this trick ever since i found out!. Now my blog is getting indexed by google within a minute!
. Just because of Digg and other Social Bookmarking websites! i am getting 100′s of visitors from Google and other Search engines…
@Bilal that’s not an SEO trick. That’s for traffic only. SEO means Search Engine Optimization
*laffs… Full time blagging is good! Thanks for the comments and the tips – let’s see how the others react to it.. Personally speaking, I’m a content freak – whether or not it brings in immediate ad revenue, doesn’t matter to me. As long as the content that’s produced and put up, is watched and brings the people the impact.. Now you’ve got me wondering whether or not I need therapy!!
One of the tricks for SEO is “Social Bookmarking” which can get your posts indexed within seconds!
Just Digg your post or use Social Bookmarking plugins so that people may stumble it or Digg it! …
As i said i love to help people.
In AdsenseTherapy.com i am helping people with their adsense earning..All they have to do is submit their website/blog and i will be reviewing their website and send them adsense optimization tips for their website!!
100′s of people have already increased their adsense earning with my free service!.
@Bilal Sure! Discuss.. Share and comment all you like.. I think everyone will only benefit from each of your input! The earlier comment was meant as a joke though it would have been nicer to talk about the methodology and then post the link rather than pasting the post, which requires no effort.. I’m all for effort!
I guess i will never be posting any tips or tricks in any blog
I am a full time blogger [www.mascobz.com] and an Adsense Therapist!
http://www.adsensetherapy.com
I have got alots of information about adsense , SEO and Internet marketing…
@Salman Good point – SEO aside, I think simple usability is good practice. Screen readers is an excellent example of why you want to stick to simplicity rather than inflate a million plugins to an already-growing and very powerful platform.
I’d personally MUCH rather have more people be able to READ my blog or post rather than aim for only revenue generation.
@bilal if you are really so interested in SEO you don’t need that plugin, as @rabia said you can add a custom/personalized one for each image while you upload and add image in post.
One more things that you need to remember is that your alt tags are also very (very very very) important for users who are reading your blog via screen-readers.. their screen-reader reads the image alt tag for them, so use it properly. Having a default alt/title tag that this plugin can add to each image if you haven’t specified yourself might validate your post with W3C, xHTML etc but it won’t help you in SEO, because then you will have multiple images with same alt/title tag + it will be very annoying for screen reader users
@rabia garib
I don’t have to publicize my blog.please remove my comment! :@ :@ ..if you think so… I was just sharing few tips!
You were the only one who said “If you have got any SEO tips please share”
@Bilal – It’s nice to publicize your website but pasting the text from it directly? Shame Shame!!
@bilal – Do you really need a plugin if you can simply plug in the ALT-tag in the description of your image when you upload it? WordPress 2.5 onwards has the tag and caption feature, both which I find very effective.
My point is – do you need to really have a plugin for something that the platform already has in-built?
Most of the bloggers are focusing on creating content for their blog. That’s great, but there’s a huge opportunity that’s overlooked by most of them: Optimizing images. Which is absolutely easy to do, and the best of all there’s virtually no competition.
Read here..

@Anum – Yes!! I think we should get you to do that… and bring along your DRILL MACHINE!! What do you say, guys?
Yeah Imran. I was going to say that. Look at the camera more. I volunteer to hold up cards for you guys from behind the camera next time=) Good episode though. You guys have a background!(Y)
@Imran *laffs!
Cool initiative! Love the fact that you’re doing it in a regional language thereby setting a focused target. All the best!
Note to self and Fish: No paper next time, need to look at the camera more!
