Today is 7th August 09 and here’s what happened today in tech…
1 - In 1906 – The Flexible Flyer was trademark registered.
2 – In 1944 – The world’s first program-controlled calculator, popularly called the Harvard Mark I was inaugurated. The machine was built by Harvard researcher Howard Aiken, supported by IBM.
3 – In 1955 – Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering, the precursor to Sony, begins selling its first transistor radios in Japan.
4 – In 1959 – Explorer 6 transmits 1st TV photo of Earth from space.
5 - In 1997 – STS-85, Discovery 23, launches into orbit.
