@Shakir Husain, Thanks for well, setting the record straight, Shakir. I think Mr. Ahsan is a little confused in what he was supposed to respond to considering on several previous occasions, we have requested him to stick to the norms of public forums.. I'm glad, however, you weren't wearing funny shoes, else that MIGHT have started a whole new war on terror here... Thanks for coming by and for taking the time to share your thoughts.

@Nadeem Ahsan, I find it difficult to digest that someone insists on paying attention to ONLY the negative and then bringing them forward. Forget anchors and enemies that hinder our progress as a nation when we have you to drive such a vital and critical point home. Short of saying, "how stupid are you??" if Shakir pokes fun at Seths for 2 minutes and talks progress in the remaining 50 minutes, is a comment on his seth-orientation REALLY worth it? Unbelievable. Please take care to be very careful in how you term "our people"... you are obviously not part of the same people who strive to make things happen. You have submitted every one of your comments to criticize personal character of people rather than on what the business is doing right or wrong. A pity. What a waste of space.

Dear Mr. Ahsan, I wanted to to comment on what you have written here. My interview with Jehan was/is based on 9 years of doing business in Pakistan. My disparaging remarks were not meant to be offensive rather reflected my experiences which is the point of this interview series. You commented in your earlier post that my comments were an exercise in "self flagellation" given that i am part of the "seth" community. I beg to differ. "seths" are not entrepreneurs rather they are a breed which has survived and prospered over the last 60 years not because of their competence or acumen but their ability to get the government to give them subsidies, tax refunds,and sweetheart concessions. Most seths have not worked an honest days' wages in their lives. Our economic system is primarily one of rent seeking which is why we are where we are. Unless we can acknowledge these problems we cannot overcome them. My views are not a secret given that I written a rather irreverent column for an english language daily every week. Sincerely, Shakir
