Counterfeit HP ink, toner: South Asia ACF team and police take enforcement action: The South Asia ACF team along with the local police conducted an enforcement action against a manufacturer and distributor of counterfeit HP Ink and Toner packagings in the Shah Alam Market, Lahore. HP announced on Monday the seizure of 2,922 Toner packages, 263 Ink packages, and other miscellaneous manufacturing material. This seizure was conducted by police at Shah Alam market, suburb of Lahore, which supplied counterfeits to the IT markets in Zaitoon Plaza and Rafi Plaza. Through our anti counterfeiting efforts, HP is determined to protect our customers and our brand” said Shahid Khan, Director Marketing – IPG Pakistan.
Systems Limited to work with NUCES FAST: An initiative has been taken by the Systems Limited to work with the senior faculty of the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES FAST) and help broaden the learning experience of final year students and postgraduates at NUCES-FAST. It was pointed out that in this regard, the Systems Limited organised a technical seminar at NUCES-FAST. The topic of the session was ‘Test Driven development and Unit Testing’ and was conducted by Systems Limited’s Chief Architect Khawaja Ahmad Saleem. The session was attended by over 100 students and a good number of faculty members.
Crime incidents through SIM cards: Mobile phone customers urged to verify ownership: The Inspector General of Police NWFP, Malik Naveed Khan has once again urged the mobile phone customers to verify the ownership of their SIM cards as soon as possible for their safety and in the larger interest of the country. In a statement issued from Central Police Offices Peshawar here on Monday, the IGP revealed that according to an estimate, mobile phones are used in 90 percent terrorist activities taking place in the country.
The IGP appealed to the general public to get their Sim ownership details verified in different mobile companies centres at the earliest, and demonstrate patriotism by extending needed help to the police.
Barclays to establish CSMs in villages: Barclays Bank Pakistan formally inaugurated its Fibre Glass Class project with Care-n-Cure, at Moladad Goth, which is a medium-sized village on the border of Sindh and Balochistan. The Fibre Glass Class project will provide education to children by establishing Centre for Social Mobilization (CSM) in rural areas. This is being achieved through installation of portable and recyclable units made of fibreglass, which work as classrooms. These units are easy to erect, dismantle and transport from village to village.
NTL, LMKR sign MoU for security solutions: NADRA Technologies Ltd (NTL) and LMK Resources Pakistan Pvt Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding to mutually provide security solutions for corporate and public sector of Pakistan. In addition to NTL’s capability to design, implement and operate solutions across the country, the solution will comprise LMKR’s indigenously built software solution ‘V-Secur’, which is a RFID based customizable application developed specially for local environment using cutting edge technologies integrated with state of the art 3rd party hardware.
