@rabia garib, well I guess, blogging anonymously is one solution. Keeps you safe. And sometimes, it’s better to not have an opinion. Let the readers judge it for themselves. Make them think.
I think Farhan can tell us better on how he keeps a check between facts and emotions since he’s been into citizen journalism since sometime now.
@Imran Hussain, True, but to be fair and cover all sides, the hype can also get out of control at times,… playing on emotions rather than the facts.
How do you boys suggest that be balanced out?
thanks =)
and true. We all vow to continue to strengthen our online media. Also, I’d like to mention here that all those ReTweets and RePosts have always been a help, it’s like a team work and collectively our citizen journalists can work for the betterment of the society.
Be ready to witness lot more commendable efforts from our citizen journalists! : )
@Farhan Janjua, Thanks
And I agree with you on that, but I’d add the 12th May incident and the death in the reality show that you covered to those milestones as well. Blogging/Online media has really put power in the hand of the public and we no longer have to rely on the contemporary media for information.
@rabia garib, And yess the bwayezz have come a laaaaang laaaang way. You guys are doing awesome! (Y) Even though I’m never invited=( =P
Good episode. ROFL @ Umar, Jadoon aur Imran! and panadol ki bullet. . LOL
hehehe
One of the milestones Pakistan Citizen Journalists can proudly quote is #LongMarch Activism. Everyone worked really hard to report the first hand information.
@rabia garib, Yeah I think privacy is another issue. I always say I’m ignorant and I don’t know anything. So correct me if I’m wrong but I think people who sent in photos to TV channels WANT their names on TV. Also, I don’t think the people in the photos don’t know that they’re being photographed or how their photo will be used. Permission tu duuuuuur ke baat hai. Hehe.
@Anum, Thank you!!! Compared to their first episodes, these guys have come SUCH a long way… I am thrilled everytime they call and tell me what they want to talk about in the upcoming show so the comments and criticism always helps us to sit and plan things out!
Yes! Responsibility is a key part of C kinda Journalism and something many of us take for granted. Privacy would also be another concern for the community to take up and talk about after all, not is the tweet, status or photograph exposing the subject, but also you since many of engage in CJ-related activities with our real IDs. No?
Good episode you guys. I liked what Jadoon said about deleting his angry tweet. And I think Imran tweeted pictures of the road block too. I guess citizen journalism is about reporting anything, without expressing your opinion, or expressing a neutral unbiased opinion. And I’m very glad you talked about responsibility too.
And Jadoon! You hazz feeling!!! Congratulations=P
