Thanks for the clarification. If that is the case, that can only gradually happen over time as our industry matures and there are more people with experience in the IT industry. For freshers, some form of training is important. This is what I think Imran calls 'polishing'. The diamonds of Pakistan need to be polished. I thought that is the role of PASHA and other such groups. If that is not their role, what is PASHA's role? Is it just to organize award ceremonies, job fairs and start up sessions? Training is the linchpin of this industry. How many employees do companies like Netsoltek, Systems, SI3 train every year? Does PASHA keep any records?

@Nadeem Ahsan, I believe Imran sahab is referring to the problems companies have in hiring employees that can hit the ground running. Over time, companies' technical demands have grown in a very accelerated manner and there isn't always the luxury of the 6-months training or initiation program to enable to bring real value into the company.

Climb atop any building and yell out a job opening and you will get hundreds and thousands of relevant CVs... Companies find it a problem in identifying several that are fit for the job...

Just my assessment of what he may have been referring to -

Great Interview!

Why is Human Resources a problem in Pakistan? According to the PSEB, there are 2 Million of them? Is their a disconnect between my understanding and what Imran is saying. Can someone clarify?
