Akif Rahman is the Chief Operating Officer of Sakonent and was visiting his Pakistan office when Photoblogger and Software Developer Raja Islam suggested that we conduct an interview with him. A great interview about CRM2.0 where Akif talks about the changing market dynamics and trends for CRM2.0 in countries such as Pakistan.

Technology companies typically re-image and re-brand themselves over time as technology and the needs of their customers rapidly change. Many technology companies in Pakistan have come and gone over the last 10 years, ones that rebrand and keep up with changing market conditions survive, other don’t. When a company has been around for an extensive period of time, there are always clients that can’t be completely satisfied. As there are employees who feel that they should have been treated differently and are disgruntled. It is a fact of doing business, as every company knows. However, if you look at the record, many of our employees are quite happy and have moved on to higher positions with companies like IBM, Etisalaat and Mobilink. Unfortunately, Mr. Atif Saleem was one of the former employees that did not have what it takes to make it to the next level and is therefore disgruntled.
@Atif Saleem,
Nice review!!
@Hammad Khan, Errr.. he also said that THIS company may be recent, but they were previously known as Hambra Consulting… Thanks for the advice though…. Is that the only concern through the entire interview? *laffs
Their website is just as old as less than 1 year, registered on 3rd March 2009. How come he claimed twice that they are running here in Pakistan for the last 10 years?
In my opinion CIO Pakistan should do some background checks and industry standing of a company before giving them a PR boost.
Thank you
Thanks for sharing! What about the quality of HR when hiring locally? Is that a problem? And WHERE Do you hire from primarily?
Great interview! I was wondering what kind of market was envisioned in Pakistan for such solutions. Do you have any local customers who have shown an interest? Companies kind of understand CRM and apprecaite the power and flexibility of the Web but are worried about security in the Cloud. What’s the USP so to speak for CRM2.0?
Very nice interview!
I have heard about Sakonent for the first time and I must say that it is most focused organization in CRM arena with its comprehensive services offering.
We were one of the first organization who made implementation of Siebel CRM OnDemand in local financial sector around 3 years back. Since our focus was not only on CRM, we couldn’t materialize the opportunity completely.
With the international experience, case studies and certified technical team I can predict a bright future of Sakonent in Pakistani local industry as the concept of CRM 2.0 is evolving with a great pace here as well.
Wishing you a great success.

Zee Waqar
