The step you have taken was long awaited. The dream you have in your mind will definitely come true. I agree that our soil is so fertilized in young talented people and it is as true as the world is revolving round the sun. The whole world is recognizing it now. This is the right time to give access and guide them through a platform like yours. All my praise to the people with you at this opening session/initiating period. It is the most courageous and challenging to take first step towards any goal for good. I do hope people will join you in this noble cause day by day.
Helping universities and students to produce better CS graduates is the best way we can help our software industry to grow!
I think this is a great initiative in this regard. Giving opportunity to students and faculty to directly interact with successful business professionals is just what was needed! I hope faculty and university management will also support this initiative and listen to industry needs and improve their system including curriculum if needed.
You are absolutely right Arbab and we are not restricting our efforts to just grooming talent for existing companies. We are working on initiatives to encourage young people to start their own companies, to develop innovate products. The sky is the limit. The young people of this country are so talented. There is nothing they cannot do if they receive the right guidance and mentoring and an enabling environment.
I believe it’s an excellent initiative and it will InshAllah help the cause of increasing quality of fresh Graduates.
In addition I usually wonder why a Pakistani student can’t be a founder of an innovative initiative like yahoo or facebook as it happened abroad. I think we need to look into this matter as well, whether it’s a problem of awareness amongst the youth or the lack of support from us! We would hardly be able to see any innovation at all if we focus on teaching our youth to be a Good Resource only. They need to be groomed in a better shape than a resource only.
