The most powerful characteristic of the Web is its greatest asset – the ability for people to build applications on top of each other and integrate technologies for collaborative solutions regardless of where you’re physically located.  In a crisis situation, it is incredibly important to be able to have a central location that can keep feeding other services allowing for better coordination and organized relief efforts.

We’re sure you’ve heard of Crisis Commons, UShahidi, PakReport and Crisis Mappers – Here’s Jeannie A. Stamberger, Adjunct Faculty at Carnegie Mellon University and Associate Director – Strategic Projects and Funding for the Disaster Management Initiative talking about CrisisCamps and how all these services are working together.

In addition to all this, Jeannie also shares some ideas of what the blogosphere and twittersphere can do whilst in Pakistan. Finally, if you’re interested in finding out how you can host your own CrisisCamp, please visit the Crisis Commons website and click on the Contact link to submit a request. They’ll take it from there!

Oh and if you Tweet this, please be sure and tag it with #crisiscommons and #pakfloods – Thanks!
