In this episode of BlogBeat we’re looking at a group of ordinary citizens out on an extraordinary mission.

The recent rains have caused tremendous damage in the southern Pakistan region of Badin (Sindh) and Balochistan. NDMA estimates over 200,000 people have been displaced as a result of 100 villages that were swept away due to flooding from a 200 foot wide gap in the salinity drain there. The Pakistan Army has launched a relief operation in Badin and are attempting to shift around 100,000 people to makeshift camps.

After hearing the situation, SA Relief adopted 3 camps in Badin, Sindh with the support of Nishat Welfare Organization, and proposed a 3-phase program.
In Phase 1, they will provide the IDPs cooked meals to steer them clear until the 30th of August. Phase 2 includes the delivery of medicine and clothing, while Phase 3 will take care of the rehabilitation of the IDPs.
The daily cost incurred in Phase 1 alone is approximately PK RS 40,000  (or US$ 500). As always, SARelief seeks your funds and contributions to assist them in the Badin Mission.
